Write for Us

ModernWeb aims to feature great content by great authors focusing tutorials and articles for web and mobile developers. The site’s goal is to become a top notch resource for web developers. publishing articles that are cutting-edge, useful, fun and (occasionally) opinionated.

If you are interested in contributing to the site, please contact Brian Rinaldi, and feel free to ask any questions. In the meantime, here’s answers to a few questions I thought potential authors might have:

What topics do you cover?

Currently the site covers web development and mobile development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Please feel free to suggest articles that relate to those topic areas. If you’re article isn’t in those areas, it won’t be accepted.

Why should I write for your site rather than my own blog?

It’s about combining resources to make something bigger and better. If you are a talented developer and perhaps even a good writer, you can still benefit from someone who is a good editor and promoter, which is where we come in. We will work to make sure that your article is the best it could be and that, once it goes live, it gets seen by the widest possible audience.

Will you accept reprinted content? Can I send you one of my existing blog posts?

Yes. If you’re looking to broaden your audience, this can work nicely and we have already published a number of hugely successful articles that were reprints. Feel free to email me and we can discuss.

Will I get paid for authoring?

Unfortunately no – not at the moment. The site will be run out of my own pocket and I just don’t have the personal funds to properly pay authors. If the site makes money in the future, that will be my top priority.

How will my content be licensed?

We use the Creative Commons Noncommercial ShareAlike license. This allows for reprints of the article – so the author could reprint on his/her own blog if they like and others could, with attribution. Nonetheless, if you want to write but require a particular license, let me know and we can work that out.
